At Sydney Wood Industries we understand the importance of environmental preservation. As purveyors of a range of the highest quality wood based products, we recognize our responsibility to source wherever possible, timber harvested through sustainable practices.
As supply of finite resources becomes scarce, the need for renewable materials grows ever greater. Timber and value added timber based products are the increasingly obvious choice for many areas of production. Wood is, after all, the original environmentally friendly building product. Many challenges now face the timber industry in the areas of sustainable harvest and forest management.
Throughout the world initiative is being taken to establish certification programs which endeavour to allow both producers and consumers to make informed, responsible choices with wood based products. SWI are striving to make that choice even easier for our clients.
At Sydney Wood Industries it is our goal to provide wood and wood products that are based on sustainable production. We consistently encourage all of our suppliers to maintain carefully managed methods and practices. We strive to ensure that our products are created using the best quality timbers from suppliers with the best environmental conditions.
It is the determined goal of SWI to make available only products
which are certified independently as having originated from sustainable
forestry practises. (e.g. Forest Stewardship Council or similar.)
