Main
SWI has secured guaranteed supply of arguably the finest marine timber of all- Burmese Teak. Long term strong relationships with most importantly, authorised Teak mills in Myanmar (Burma) ensure not only quality but consistant supply. This scenario has of course allowed SWI competitive advantages unachievable to most of the competition. Marine Timbers (a division of SWI) has enjoyed outstanding growth in the marine sector. SWI can now lay claim to not only competing with, but to holding our own against Australia’s premier marine timber suppliers. The company does extensive trade with all of the main players in Australia’s luxury and superyacht industry. Our involvement with this sector of the marine industry has resulted in supply of Burmese Teak material and other marine timber products for the manufacture of the three largest superyachts built in Australia for 2005/6.
SWI’s introduction of Topfloor® Uniclic® engineered hardwood flooring to the market was an industry first. The product was the first commercially available Uniclic® hardwood floor on the Australian market. The advantages of this quick-to-lay system have so far won SWI multiple commercial contracts in large volume spaces. The benefits of this product look set to continue to set it apart from the competition.
This entry into the flooring industry was followed by a move into outdoor decking. Another innovative product line was procured in the form of iDECK® (a range of hardwood decking and landcaping products). This line of products includes iCONNECT Decking Tiles and iCLIP Decking Boards.
What next?
SWI/Marine Timbers is very encouraged by the consistent growth in all sectors of the business. Upcoming projects include specification of our Teak flooring and decking into a large international hotel complex project in Bangkok (fostering a relationship with one of the world’s leading hotel design firms) and of course our continued involvement with Australia’s leading luxury watercraft manufacturers such as Maritimo Offshore, Azzura Marine, Palm Beach Motor Yachts and many more.
A line of outdoor furniture including a unique range of models designed specifically to cater to the luxury powerboat owner market is currently in development and due for release this spring.
